Cybex Priam 2019 stroller premiere in version 2.0!
The Priam stroller in a refreshed version entering the market in early 2019, is offered as a product of the highest and most expensive line from the premium segment of the Cybex brand. It received a new form of carrycot and stroller seat, maintained in the edginess and classic elegance of the American bohemian 1950s. The current silhouette of the Cybex Priam stroller is a direct reference to the most famous work of the legendary pair of architects, artists and industrial design engineers, the Lounge Chair and Ottoman, Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Ray Eames, with which they forever entered the history of modernism.
Let's know the context. The 1950s were a training ground between the American and the already developed German interpretation of modern design. A famous quote from the late 1940s by American architect Louis Sullivan, "Form Follows Function," defined a departure from the impractical design system of previous eras. The premise of modernism and its essence was the cult of functionality, practicality and adaptation of furniture to human needs and the reduction to a minimum of all materials needed to realize these requirements. The German Bauhaus thus offered openwork, simple, minimalist solutions that were simply meant to "work as well as possible." This resulted in futuristic designs that were characterized by maximum simplicity, low consumption of materials and lack of ornamentation and decoration, while the form itself was to be decorative, but most importantly functional - here closes the philosophy of European modernism in interior architecture.
Mr. and Mrs. Eames, unlike the Bauhaus trend of European modernism, approached design with a more humorous approach. They wanted the things they created, in addition to their function, to have a luxurious and spectacular form, which was, against all odds, a very difficult task with the philosophy of modernism. They played around, balancing simplicity with extravagance, and together they created a series of striking pieces of furniture that are just in our modern era experiencing another gigantic boom. People familiar with their work every day will spot their most famous works on television, catalogs, offices and luxury apartments. On the grounds of such a great legacy, Cybex designers brought the philosophy of Mr. and Mrs. Eames to the world of the baby industry, creating their most famous pram - the Cybex Priam.
The Cybex Priam frame will be available in three color versions with a dedicated color version for each of the handle padding and headband. New exclusive details please the eye and elevate the Cybex Priam series to an even higher level. Also new will be the so-called e-Priam rack with electric motor-assist technology embedded on the rear axle - taken from e-Bikes. The Cybex Priam stroller will be available as standard: pram deep, pram deep-walker (2in1), pram stroller, and expandable combinations with car seat (3in1) and car seat base (4in1)
A new color in the Cybex Priam frame collection will be the Rosegold Frame in a copper shade, combined with elements of dark brown eco-leather As standard, the Priam Matt Black Frame with black eco-leather remains in the collection. The Cybex Priam Chrome Frame in the current collection will be paired with Cognac eco leather. The frames will be set on All-Terrain wheels (pram for all terrain) with spring-loaded suspension. Standard for the Cybex Priam one-hand folding, with a removable headband on both sides, a spacious 5kg capacity basket, locking swivel front wheels, and telescopically adjustable handle height. The frame allows for partial folding and switching to two-wheel mode on the rear axle with large wheels - a dedicated solution for difficult, sandy terrain.
The redesigned Priam Lux Seat and Priam Lux Carrycot will be available in five basic color options: Indigo Blue, True Red, Fancy Pink, Premium Black, and Manhattan Grey. The cart will also be presented in the most famous special editions. The new collection also features a new accessory - the Priam Little Cot cocoon-sleeping bag.
The Lux Carrcot carrycot in the new Cybex Priam has been given a form clearly taken from the design of the bent wood elements of the Lounge Chair seat. Very large carrycot, deep, spacious with rounded shapes, directly refers to the children's classics. A new feature is the extra wide, panoramic uncovered ventilation panels in the back of the carrycot and the canopy, allowing free airflow inside the carrycot and, in more opportune situations, a better view for both toddler and parent. There were also changes in the seating of the headband - it was moved to the structural elements of the booth. The booth has been equipped with a new feature - an additional shade canopy that expands from the inside. The interior of the carrycot is lined with elegant quilted textiles made of 100% premium cotton.
The Lux Seat received softer shapes, new textiles, leather details, a beautiful carbon fiber seatbelt buckle, an XXL booth with an additional removable shade panel, and redesigned details. An absolute novelty is the dedicated Cybex Priam Little Cot, it is a cocoon-sleeper set on the stroller seat. Cybex Priam Lux Seat is a seat that folds completely flat allowing use from birth. Priam Little Cot cocoon is the perfect accessory for the fall and winter season. Warmly covers the baby's legs and body, is dedicated from birth to about 17 kg (about 4 years old) , is mounted both on the seat fully unfolded flat and raised. The seat is normally mounted on both sides on the frame of the stroller, facing forward or backward, at a height that allows an appropriate position for the child when the stroller is placed on the table.
