The latest Dr. Brown's Options+ bottles give parents the freedom to choose how they want to feed their baby. The patented venting system allows you to feed your baby with a Dr. Brown’s bottle, either with or without the venting system. The bottle features a new nipple shape that resembles a mother's breast.
When feeding, we recommend using the Dr. Brown’s anti-colic system so that your baby can enjoy all the health benefits:
- The venting system prevents air bubbles from forming in the food, which helps prevent colic, burping, and gas buildup;
- A patented venting system effectively reduces the oxidation of breast milk and formula, which helps preserve essential nutrients such as vitamins C, A, and E, as well as lipids (based on a university study);
- The bottle's full-venting system allows for feeding without creating a vacuum, similar to breastfeeding;
- A bottle does not interfere with the sucking reflex.
- Some parents believe that once a child is older and more developed, removing the venting system provides an additional option for bottle-feeding with Dr. Brown’s:
- It provides a feeding experience similar to that of most bottles that have a venting system in the nipple;
- The venting system in the nipple ensures an appropriate flow rate.
