which has become an international icon of Norwegian industrial design
Peter Opsvik, Norwegian engineer, creator of the chair Stokke Tripp Trapp , proclaimed a 'renaissance man obsessed with ergonomics' - in a world where sedentary lifestyles have become commonplace, continuously since 1959, he has sought solutions to support the human body in functioning in conditions that are unnatural to it.
Peter Opsvik feeding chair Stokke Tripp Trapp designed and built with his own hands for his son. The concept was simple. The chair's form is to bring the child closer to the family table at every designed stage of development. Unique height and depth adjustment the seating of the elements allows for matching Stokke Tripp Trapp to a child in a very wide range of age, height and weight - so as to provide maximum comfort and most importantly fully ergonomic spinal support.
For a wide audience, a feeding chair Stokke Tripp Trapp was officially presented in 1972. It immediately turned out to be a revolutionary design that resonated very widely in the design industries and became the beginning of a very serious approach to ergonomics dedicated to children from the moment of birth.
What makes Peter Opsvik's design timeless is its concept of. The floor is a natural space where toddlers learn balance, coordination, discovering the possibilities of their own bodies - it is in the floor that they first find support. Tripp Trapp is designed to "bring the floor closer to the child" , which is cleverly achieved in a sleek design whose flat surfaces elevate the toddler, bridging the height difference between child and parents, allowing them to sit together, spend time and interact at eye level. Unique form of the chair Stokke Tripp Trapp it changes over the years growing with the child, staying with him until adulthood, able to continue to serve for life - literally .

step 3. Stokke® Tripp Trapp® standalone highchair
This is the stage when everything becomes simple. After their third birthday, toddlers are ready to sit in their highchair on their own. Frets in the construction of the chair will allow you to individually adjust the height of the chair's elements to the needs of the child, so as to achieve the most comfortable and ergonomic support possible.
Over time, Stokke Tripp Trapp will do a great job as a desk chair for a young student, when every longer study and additional activities, the spine especially requires an appropriate seating angle - in this context, Tripp Trapp meets the rigorous objectives of the designer.
A unique feature of the Tripp Trapp chair is the design, which in its final form also serves adults - at this stage the chair reaches its final appearance, in which it is no longer necessary to use leg support. Just adjust the level of the seat to your height, about the weight you do not have to worry - the chair adapted for 136 kg load . There's a reason why you'll find the Stokke Tripp Trapp as an unconventional and original dining chair in design lovers.
