Stokke® Nomi® ergonomic chair | Oiled Oak Anthracite

The Nomi® chair is the result of decades of experience in designing ergonomic structures for everyday use. Peter Opsvik, the author of the project, a Norwegian industrial design engineer, is famous for the world's first modular-growing chair Stokke® Tripp Trapp® .

Nomi® represents not only a completely different stylistic direction, thanks to which it is addressed to a different group of parents, but its specific form allows for tool-free adjustment of elements to the needs of a growing child. The silhouette of the Nomi® chair is based on a beechwood frame veneered with oak or walnut wood, combined with the so-called Color Set, which is a set of elements consisting of: the base of the frame, footrest, seat and backrest - all in the color variant chosen by you.

The central milling in the shaft acts as an axis along which the height of the seat and footrest is adjusted using clamping knobs, thus ideally adapting to the body, maintaining maximum ergonomics and clearly noticeable seating comfort. The lightweight structure mounted on four wheels ensures mobility and responds to the child's movements, completely eliminating the possibility of tipping over.

0-6 Months

A baby requires special conditions in the first six months of life. During this period, the only natural position for a baby is lying down, until it tries to sit up on its own (around 7 months of age). The Nomi design allows you to place a lounger (available separately) adapted to the needs of the baby on the rod. You compose your own lounger according to your preferences from two connected elements: Nomi Baby Base (the shell of the lounger) and Nomi Baby Matress (the mattress of the lounger with a cover and 5-point safety belts).

6-24 Months

After about 6 months of life, the baby is ready to try sitting up on its own. The so-called Nomi Mini will come to the rescue, i.e. a safety bar (available separately), which will keep the child in the safe area of ​​the seat, preventing any slipping or jumping out. This is a period in the child's life in which learning to eat independently plays an important role, so a tray (available separately) that can be placed on the bar will be a useful accessory. The set can be supplemented with a cushion under the seat and backrest, which will additionally increase the comfort of use - they can also be used later, when the child outgrows the stage of using the Nomi Mini bar.

2-6 years

The toddler grows up and everything slowly becomes easier. After about 3 years, children are ready to sit on their own in their chair without the help of accessories. The central milling in the shaft allows you to adjust the height of the seat and footrest using clamping knobs, perfectly adapting to the body at all stages of development - for many years to come.

6-11 years old

At this age, children begin to use the Nomi chair in a broader context and for a longer period of time than in previous years. The chair no longer fulfills its role only during meals and games at the table, but is moving into a phase adapted to the student's life. Nomi will work perfectly as an ergonomic desk chair, where during long studies and additional classes, the young spine will require appropriate support. Peter Opsvik has devoted his entire life to designing ergonomic chairs adapted to the current lifestyle, in which the amount of time spent in a sitting position is unnaturally long and inexorably harmful to our bodies. Teenager - Adult

This is the stage where the Nomi chair reaches its final level of evolution. The previously needed footrest no longer fulfills its role, so it can be easily removed by unscrewing the knob holding it in the pin. The unique feature of the Stokke Tripp Trapp and Nomi chairs is their construction, which gradually moves from the world of a child, through the world of a teenager, to an adult. The construction made of solid wood and the highest quality plastic guarantees longevity, strength and stability of the furniture for many years.
