Peter Opsvik, a Norwegian engineer and creator of the Stokke Tripp Trapp chair , has been called a 'renaissance man obsessed with ergonomics' – in a world where a sedentary lifestyle has become common, and has been continuously searching for solutions since 1959 to support the human body in functioning in unnatural conditions.

Peter Opsvik designed and built the Stokke Tripp Trapp feeding chair for his son with his own hands. The concept was simple. The shape of the chair is to bring the child closer to the family table at every stage of their development. The unique adjustment of the height and depth of the elements allows Stokke Tripp Trapp to be adjusted to the child in a very wide range of age, height and weight - to ensure maximum comfort and, most importantly, completely ergonomic support for the spine.

The Stokke Tripp Trapp highchair was officially introduced to the general public in 1972. step 2. Stokke® Tripp Trapp® Highchair + Baby Set

Children grow like weeds. After a few months of life, the toddler enters the stage of learning a stable sitting position. The Tripp Trapp Baby Set will provide additional support for small backs, and the safety bar will keep the child safely within the seat, preventing any slipping off, and for more demanding travelers, it is worth considering purchasing dedicated safety harnesses. This is the period in a child's life when learning to eat independently can cause a little mess. The tray will catch flying pieces of food and, importantly, it is dishwasher safe. step 3. Stokke® Tripp Trapp® Standalone Chair

This is the stage where everything becomes simple. After the third birthday, the little ones are ready to sit on their own in their chair. The milling cutters in the chair's construction allow for individual adjustment of the height of the chair elements to the child's needs, in order to achieve the most comfortable and ergonomic support possible.

Over time, Stokke Tripp Trapp will perfectly fulfill its role as a desk chair for a young student, when, with increasingly longer studies and additional activities, the spine especially requires an appropriate sitting angle - in this context, Tripp Trapp meets the rigorous assumptions of the designer.

The unique feature of the Tripp Trapp chair is its construction, which in its final shape also serves adults - at this stage the chair reaches its final appearance, in which it is no longer necessary to use leg support. All you need to do is adjust the seat level to your height, you don't have to worry about the weight - the chair is designed to withstand a load of 136 kg . The Stokke Tripp Trapp chair is made in two versions, from solid beech wood and solid oak wood, sourced exclusively from certified forests in Central Europe. Each wooden chair has its own unique character and none looks exactly the same. Each Stokke Tripp Trapp chair (in the natural version) has individual coloring, grain and knots, which are a completely natural, decorative and unique character of wood, which becomes more and more beautiful with time. The Tripp Trapp chair is made with longevity in mind.

The Stokke Tripp Trapp chair was listed as number 88 on the list of 100 most important designs in the history of industrial design.

Tripp Trapp is also part of the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York , the Design Museum in London, the Victoria and Albert Museum, and the Vitra Design Museum in Germany. His portfolio of ergonomic chairs includes Garden (part of Globe Concept, Moment), HÅG Capisco (Flokk), Balans Variabel (Varier), and the Nomi children’s chair (Evomove).
